Finally Moving.

Hey! Remember that time I complained about how people didn't ever update these things with anything substantial? Well CHECK THIS OUT!

In the past two days we've released THREE new projects. First, here's the highlight reel and the documentary edit for The Abbotts - our FIRST wedding project. We're very happy with it for our first wedding video, and we hope you like it too!

 - Highlight Reel
 - Documentary Edit

Even bigger news is we've released our new REEL for August 2011. It was supposed to be July, but we had to wait for approval from certain clients that took longer than anticipated. Everything's been authorized, however, and so the reel is ready for human consumption!

You can see it on the front page of our website or by following this link.

Check it out, tell your friends.

New things coming soon! - by Gary

Don't you hate when people post things like that? When they're constantly updating you with a lack of updates, only to tell you that in the future, they might have things you'll be interested in? It doesn't take me long to lose hope that this person really has anything that will ever interest me. All it serves to really do is remind me how long it's been since this person has really done anything. I think, "wow, this is the fifth or so update from them in two weeks, and still no product. What exactly have they been doing for the past two weeks to have nothing to show for it?" Sometimes I think, maybe it's better to just keep your mouth shut until you actually have something substantial.

Oh well, just a thought. Talk soon.

UPDATE: MAY 25TH - by Gary

It's currently 5:30 in the morning here in Astoria, NY. A strict regiment of caffeine and cold water has kept me up editing the amazing footage captured during our time covering Warrior Dash for the last two weekends. First we drove down to Georgia and got what's sure to be some of the best slip and slide footage ever captured in HD. Then we went to Maryland, whose beautiful blue sky and rugged earth gave us a picturesque landscape that perfectly captured the feeling of the race.

As an editor, it's moments like this, captivated into the early hours of the morning by downright inspirational footage that makes me so incredibly grateful to be on a team of such talented filmmakers. Red Frog Events has know idea how good this thing is gonna be. Seriously.

Now that I've built it up beyond attainability, sit there and wait until July when it finally comes out. In this moment, I'm pretty damn confident in the successful future of Pale Blue Pictures.

Oh and check it: we're actually legally allowed to operate in NYC now! That's a good thing! Hooray!

We suck at blogging, and I apologize for that. Hopefully in the coming months we'll be a lot more frequent with our updates. But probably not.

Speak. - by Dakota

As a new wave of filmmakers enters the scene, we're trying to fight our way to the top.

We're learning to speak, like businessmen and sales people.  We want people to buy our service, not because we offer high quality productions (which we do) or that we are extremely friendly and personable (which we are), but because our work entertains people, engages them.   It's something I'm waiting for, that time when someone calls back from an e-mail I sent out and says "May I speak with Dakota Madden?"  It'll be a interesting moment in time, when I'm speechless and lost in my brain.  I'll be looking forward to the words I'll say, or mumble.  They'll go down in history as a the worst mistake ever or the deal that changed our future.

I've been doing a little reading on how to sell our services.  Learning a little more to say to someone, but every time they seem gimicky and strange.  But, if the formula works, don't change it.  It seems like it will, because maybe it isn't gimicky and strange, just to me.

Here we go, phone calls and fun.  Wish me luck.  Oh yeah, buy our services. :)

UPDATE: APRIL 18th - by Gary

Well, it's been entirely too long since we posted a blog. Last time was Warrior Dash. Since then we've release a new Artist Profile on That 1 Guy and - oh yeah - moved to New York City.

We've settled in and are on our way to getting back to our grind. Warrior Dash loved our promo for them so much, they've hired us to do more! We've got a bunch of stuff launching with them in July so stay tuned for that. It's going to be a lot of hard work but hopefully a ton of fun as well.

On top of that we're trying to hook up some cool projects as well as get some commercial work to pay those pesky bills. It's a good day when you can look at the worst thing about your job and realize that it's still pretty amazing. I could do Warrior Dash promos for the rest of my career and I'd still be grateful I wasn't stuck in a cubicle. At least I'm creating something that matters to somebody, even if only to me.

This weekend was spent seeing Manhattan and finishing up Mark Russell's new music video. Just got some color correction to do and it's golden. (Literally, we're coloring the whole thing gold)

It flew a little under the radar but we also did a music video for SMB Project, for their new song Lights and Sounds. It was a long time coming but we hope we caught the vibe they were looking for.

Keep checking in for all our new stuff, including fire dancers, basketball, and the civil war.

Oh, and I might have been lying about turning Mark Russell's new video golden. You'll have to check it out and see what color we REALLY turned it.

The World Unconquered.

Pale Blue Pictures have barely ventured into the vastness of our planet.  We've only taken a few small steps into the real world and we're prepared for it.  Some small winds have knocked us around in the past, but we're prepared for the tough ones, the ones that try to knock us down.  We've built a strong foundation from the ideas of four creative and passionate individuals and that's the greatest thing about it, the idea.  The idea that four random guys could meet at a college in Central Florida and pledge to tackle the filmmaking industry in a way that we want to.  In such a groundbreaking way, that we may even conquer Earth.

We'll see where we end up.
