Speak. - by Dakota

As a new wave of filmmakers enters the scene, we're trying to fight our way to the top.

We're learning to speak, like businessmen and sales people.  We want people to buy our service, not because we offer high quality productions (which we do) or that we are extremely friendly and personable (which we are), but because our work entertains people, engages them.   It's something I'm waiting for, that time when someone calls back from an e-mail I sent out and says "May I speak with Dakota Madden?"  It'll be a interesting moment in time, when I'm speechless and lost in my brain.  I'll be looking forward to the words I'll say, or mumble.  They'll go down in history as a the worst mistake ever or the deal that changed our future.

I've been doing a little reading on how to sell our services.  Learning a little more to say to someone, but every time they seem gimicky and strange.  But, if the formula works, don't change it.  It seems like it will, because maybe it isn't gimicky and strange, just to me.

Here we go, phone calls and fun.  Wish me luck.  Oh yeah, buy our services. :)

UPDATE: APRIL 18th - by Gary

Well, it's been entirely too long since we posted a blog. Last time was Warrior Dash. Since then we've release a new Artist Profile on That 1 Guy and - oh yeah - moved to New York City.

We've settled in and are on our way to getting back to our grind. Warrior Dash loved our promo for them so much, they've hired us to do more! We've got a bunch of stuff launching with them in July so stay tuned for that. It's going to be a lot of hard work but hopefully a ton of fun as well.

On top of that we're trying to hook up some cool projects as well as get some commercial work to pay those pesky bills. It's a good day when you can look at the worst thing about your job and realize that it's still pretty amazing. I could do Warrior Dash promos for the rest of my career and I'd still be grateful I wasn't stuck in a cubicle. At least I'm creating something that matters to somebody, even if only to me.

This weekend was spent seeing Manhattan and finishing up Mark Russell's new music video. Just got some color correction to do and it's golden. (Literally, we're coloring the whole thing gold)

It flew a little under the radar but we also did a music video for SMB Project, for their new song Lights and Sounds. It was a long time coming but we hope we caught the vibe they were looking for.

Keep checking in for all our new stuff, including fire dancers, basketball, and the civil war.

Oh, and I might have been lying about turning Mark Russell's new video golden. You'll have to check it out and see what color we REALLY turned it.
